Even if that feels hard to see right now, that's okay. We've been there.
But we promise, based on our experience with hundreds of students of all backgrounds, this test is more predictable than you think. And we also know, you are more capable than you give yourself credit for.

But even more importantly, we're here to guide you to the version of yourself that walks into Day 1 of Medical School and says,
"I'm ready."
"I belong here."
We've seen the common pitfalls and the breakthroughs hundreds of times over. From all of that experience, we've designed a method that avoids as many of those cave-ins as possible and sets students on a path to success from the very first day.
Many students come to us feeling defeated after working with the biggest companies in tutoring, only to find the MCAT suddenly makes so much more sense after just a couple sessions with our team.
You're here because you're ready to take the MCAT seriously. Let's get organized and build your personalized roadmap.
Master all MCAT content through active learning, spaced repetition, and targeted help when you need it most.
Learn the subtle testing habits that separate frustration from flow. Make the MCAT feel predictable.

Test day arrives. You're prepared, you're calm, you're ready. Then you carry these skills forward into medical school and beyond.
Learning all of MCAT content is a massive climb. We're here to make that as comprehensive and straightforward as possible so you can just relax into studying.
You'll know exactly what content to cover, in what order, and how to track it using personalized study plans and content checklists.
We build your plan directly from the official AAMC content outline so nothing important slips through the cracks.
Every year the MCAT finds new and creative ways to test concepts. True depth of understanding is the only way to be ready whatever new question style pops up.
We train you to use active recall, spaced repetition, and practice integration so your first pass through content actually sticks.
In sessions, we'll break down your toughest topics, explain them clearly, and show you exactly how to apply them to MCAT-style questions.
We'll connect content to strategy so you don't just "know" facts, you can use them efficiently under timed conditions.

Build a consistent approach to ensure you never miss the key details and context the MCAT expects from you every time.
Develop habits that reduce wasted mental effort, preserve energy, and keep you sharp to the final question.
Many sessions are spent diving into strategy by walking through passages and questions with your tutor modeling an expert approach or (more often) giving immediate feedback on your process to help you notice blind spots or develop more productive habits.
Time is an incredibly valuable resource on this exam. Learn advanced timing strategies so you never feel rushed or run out of time on a section.
Learn fool-proof tips and techniques to end the overwhelm with math or physics questions so you can earn every point within your reach.
Test taking is a skill anyone can learn. Take advantage of multiple choice. Use the context. Know when to trust your gut, when to slow down, when to move on.
We teach these skills to feel natural and easy. We'll help you see the test like you're the one writing the questions. By test day, you'll be shocked how predictable this test is.
We've seen even the most defeated students make 10 point jumps after single sessions exploring mindset issues. If you want to perform your best, it is essential.
Learn to recognize the signs of mental and physical stress the moment they show up. End the automatic reactivity.
Mental practices to reinforce belief in your readiness and skill.
Breathing, focus, and mental reset techniques drawn from performance psychology and high-pressure performance fields.
Grinding and cramming doesn't work for the MCAT. We help you plan rest, balance and recovery so you're at your best the whole way to test day.
Shift the MCAT from a "threat" to a challenge you can own, just like the moments you'll face as a doctor. Turn the MCAT monster into an opportunity you can enjoy.
Identify and dismantle the hidden fears and assumptions that can sabotage performance.
Nerves, anxiety, pressure can throw off even the most prepared student. End the self sabotage. Learn to meet challenge with confidence. Show up as your best self on test day.
Finding a tutoring program that is the right fit for you can mean the difference between hitting your goal on the first try or delaying medical school another year.
If you find yourself resonating with our methods, then you are just the kind of student we'd love to support.
If the MCAT is the choppy, foggy sea you have to cross to get from the harbor of undergrad to the shores of Medical School, think of me as the calm ferryman who knows the currents like the back of his hand and will keep you from tripping over yourself and falling overboard. 🚣 😌
I've been tutoring specifically for the MCAT for over 10 years. I've personally supported over 1000 students to test day. After all of that, I can say confidently I know this test as well as anyone alive. 💪 But even more importantly, I've seen all of the behind the scenes trials, challenges and breakthroughs it takes to perform well on this exam again and again.
I've reassured students in their first and last moments of overwhelm. 😬 I've helped students reset and recommit as burnout starts creeping in. I've sat with students breaking down under a mountain of pressure and helped them remember, beyond a test, who they are and why they chose this path. What I do is much more than tutoring. And that's why this work will always be extremely rewarding to me.
Yes, I'm here to help you achieve your dream score on the MCAT, but ultimately what's even more important to me is that you leave our program feeling rock solid about your capability to take on any challenge that lies ahead of you with excellence and ease. I love when I hear back from students years later about how a tool I taught them is still getting them through tough moments. I love hearing how medical school was that much smoother for them. 😮💨 I'd love to share these lessons and experience with you.

Yes, they excelled on their MCAT. But that means little as a tutor if you can't explain a complex topic in a way most students can understand. All of our tutors are excellent teachers as well as MCAT success stories.
All associate tutors have years of prior tutoring experience in both 1 on 1 and group settings.
Every tutor spends 1–2 months in direct training with me before working with students, learning our methods and the art of tutoring until they can deliver consistently.
We meet monthly to review cases, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure your progress stays on track.
Tutors share detailed session notes, communicate about your progress, and know exactly what you've worked on so there's never a gap in support.
Having both a seasoned MCAT coach and a more recent test-taker gives you the perfect balance of wisdom and relatability. Students consistently find this enhances their experience.

"I cannot recommend Paul Johnson and Summit the Score strongly enough. There are a dozen reasons I can give as to why Paul was such an amazing tutor, but I will focus what I believe were the 3 keys that set him apart. First Paul helps map out a step by step comprehensive and dynamic plan for you from the get-go that helps you steadily improve on the path to achieving your target score. The sheer breadth of information on the MCAT can be overwhelming but with Paul's plan and guidance I was able to tackle the material in a systematic manner that helped me feel both prepared and confident on test day. Second although Paul is excellent with all 4 of the MCAT sections I want to highlight his ability to help students improve their CARS score. Prior to beginning my prep, I was dreading CARS and assumed it would be my worst section as I am a very slow reader and do not read often in my free time. Paul's methodology for the CARS section was exceptional and helped me see incredible progress on the section many people say you cannot study for. (Diagnostic score 126 to 131 on the MCAT). 3rd Paul provides a calming and encouraging presence that was crucial to me on the MCAT. I am an anxious person and felt both overwhelmed and defeated at many points throughout my MCAT prep however, my meetings with Paul always left me feeling rejuvenated and confident. The growth mindset Paul helps instill in his students may be the greatest asset of all. This was critical in sustaining me on my road to the MCAT. The MCAT is a beast of a test and preparing for it was a stressful ordeal. Paul's calming presence was paramount to my success, and I feel strongly that he is the ideal person to guide students throughout this arduous process by minimizing your stress and maximizing your score!"

"I had an incredible experience with Summit the Score and would recommend them to all. From the initial consultation, I knew they were great at listening and ready to fix the mindset problems I didn't even realize that I had but that Paul saw so clearly. Since it was my second time taking the MCAT, I was nervous about starting again and skeptical about what could be done differently this time around. But from the jump and throughout our sessions, Paul explained and convinced me about the importance of mindset. Paul showed me how to be aware of my own feelings and worries while maintaining self-confidence and channeling those feelings into focus and determination. And this made all the difference! I felt more calm and focused during my practice sections. This allowed me to read and understand questions better, which they also gave me strategies for. In addition, I really appreciated the unique study strategy of group tutoring sessions - these gave me the opportunity to break down problems and concepts with peers in the same position as me. We learned and grew together and the sessions include valuable mindset exercises as well. The social interaction and common ground I found in these sessions was an important experience throughout my studying! And of course they have great resources and are excellent teachers of every MCAT concept. Thank you so much, Paul and Summit the Score, for your constant grace, kindness, and motivation throughout my MCAT process!"

"I would strongly recommend working with Paul in your MCAT prep! From our first session, Paul was welcoming, open, and flexible with my schedule and study timeline. His knowledge of what resources will best help you succeed was so useful, and his creation of a weekly study plan alleviated so much stress I had about structuring my prep. In one-on-one tutoring sessions, Paul was very approachable and created a comfortable environment to ask questions and work through challenges. At each session, he was well-prepared and focused, allowing us to dive straight into the material and use the time efficiently. The most valuable role Paul played in my MCAT journey was helping me through the mental preparation that comes with preparing for this exam. Whether it was opening up about my stress in an individual session or relating to his other students during the "Mindset" group sessions, Paul has truly nailed the mentality prep needed for this exam. As my exam was approaching, Paul also coached me in MCAT-specific strategies that helped so much with time management and remaining calm during each section. This exam truly tests your stamina, and working with Paul helped me get to a point of feeling calm and prepared walking into test day. In the end, I achieved my highest practice exam score on the real exam, and Paul played a pivotal role in my success! Paul truly takes a humanistic approach to MCAT prep, caring for his students and investing in their journey. I am so appreciative of his support and knowledge and am feeling confident in my score while applying to medical school!"

"Working with Paul and Spencer was such a key part of my MCAT prep. They really broke down the exam for me, especially in showing how to approach reading and understanding passages across the different sections. I learned concrete strategies to tackle each passage with more confidence and structure, which completely changed how I felt going into practice tests and increased my scores. I had struggled with timing, so watching them model how to approach passages—and then listening carefully to my thought process as I worked through them—gave me the necessary refinement in my strategies to succeed. The personalized schedule, reading guides, and other materials also gave me the structure I needed to approach my daily test prep. What once felt like a daunting task became much more manageable and straightforward thanks to these resources. The group sessions were another huge bonus. I picked up new ways of thinking about tough content areas I had struggled with on my own, and it was motivating to learn alongside other students. I also really valued how Summit the Score emphasizes mindfulness, reducing test anxiety, and overall well-being. That focus was so helpful during what can be such a stressful time. Between the personalized strategies, group learning, and mindfulness reminders I walked into exam day with stronger content knowledge, a much clearer process for handling each section, and confidence + reduced test anxiety. I'm truly grateful for their support and guidance, and I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to feel more confident and prepared for test day."

"When I began looking into the MCAT, I felt overwhelmed and uncertain of where to even start. The sheer amount of content and the overwhelming number of online tutoring options only added to my apprehension. I knew I needed a program tailored to my unique strengths and weaknesses, one that would invest in my personalized success. Thankfully, I found that in Paul. From the moment I began working with Paul, I knew I was in capable hands. He devised a personalized schedule detailing each week leading up to my test. This alleviated my concerns, allowing me to fully focus on content without unnecessary distractions. Furthermore, Paul's thorough explanations and support in addressing challenging concepts ensured that no question went unanswered. Paul's guidance extended beyond mere content review; he emphasized the importance of strategy and mindset throughout our sessions. His advocacy for maintaining a balanced lifestyle underscored his commitment to ensuring not just academic preparedness, but also maintaining mental health. By emphasizing the significance of a healthy lifestyle and stress management, Paul instilled in me the confidence needed to tackle the MCAT with ease. Studying for the MCAT is no easy task. It demands diligence, perseverance, and resilience, but with Paul's guidance, you will learn the skills and gain the confidence to succeed."

"I started working with Paul and Kayla at the beginning of my MCAT preparation journey when I initially felt overwhelmed and unsure how to approach this test. They provided me with a clear, structured plan and eased the feelings of anxiety and uncertainty around preparation. Daily content review tasks were made simpler and more manageable through the abundance of resources they provided, like chapter guides, which made long Kaplan chapters less intimidating. The group sessions and one-on-one meetings helped build my confidence in tricky subject matters, knowing I had the support of my tutors and other students taking the exam. What ultimately boosted my score to nearly 20 points above my diagnostic was not just the content, it was the mentorship and mindfulness. They recognized that a lot of this test is mental and unlike other tutoring agencies they addressed these concerns through sessions about testing anxiety and strategies. They prioritized mental wellbeing and self-care during the whole process, which I think is often lost a lot during high-stress situations like these. The techniques Paul taught me are transferable even beyond the scope of the MCAT, and I plan to carry them with me into my future tests."

With larger tutoring companies, which tutor you end up with is always a bit of a lottery. Will they have real experience? Will they see the bigger picture? Can they actually mentor you through the challenges this test throws at you?
With us, you're guaranteed to work with a head tutor who has as much experience as anyone in the industry, and a method that's been built and refined over thousands of students. Every associate tutor that works with us spends a minimum of one month training directly with the head tutor before working with a single student, and all are trained in the same method that covers content, strategy, and mindset. Most other tutoring companies don't provide significant training, and rely fully on the tutor's incoming skill.
We're also not locked into pushing our own specific resources. As a smaller company, we're free to recommend the best materials on the market, whether they carry our name or not. We care more about what actually works for you than keeping you inside one ecosystem.
And finally, you'll hear almost nothing from other companies about the importance of mindset and performance practices. In our experience, this is massively important. By test day, students fully appreciate how much that emphasis matters. As one student put it, "Their holistic approach is truly rare and incredibly effective."
The typical package for students who work with us ranges from $6,000 to $8,200, depending on your timeline and needs. Payments are split into monthly installments to keep things manageable. Full packaging details and a personalized breakdown are provided after a student applies, so we can tailor everything to your specific situation.
Our program is uniquely comprehensive. We support students in ways that go well beyond what's typical in this industry, and we price accordingly. We're a small, highly-sought-after company that can only take on 30 students per quarter, and we're consistently full during the busiest times of the year.
We've had students decide to go with another service first, only to come back to us after a disappointing result, realizing they weren't getting the quality of support they needed. Unfortunately, by that point it often means delaying their application timeline by an entire year. We'd rather be the first call, not the second one.
Students receive 3 to 4 one-on-one tutoring sessions per month, depending on where they are in their prep, with the highest frequency during the final three months.
Group sessions also begin in the final three months. Each month, we offer 8 to 10 group session time slots and make sure that every student can attend at least two. Students can attend up to six per month depending on their availability and how deep they want to dive into MCAT strategy that month.
This means that during the most important stretch of prep, students could have up to 10 sessions a month, or 2 to 3 sessions per week. All group and one-on-one tutoring sessions are one hour long.
We work with students for a minimum of three months, which is the minimum MCAT prep time we recommend for full-time studiers, with four months being even more ideal. For students who are working or in school, we recommend closer to 5 to 8 months depending on how much time they can dedicate each week. We always tailor plans to fit your specific timeline, goals, and outside obligations.
When students try to cram into less time than three months, it can create an impossibly stressful situation that leads to burnout and often disappointing results. We take our students' success seriously, and we want to make sure you're setting yourself up for the best possible outcome from the start.
It's very important to us that every student feels highly engaged and actively participating, so we keep group sessions small with no more than six students. Sessions cover high-yield topics, live passage breakdowns, and peak performance mindset practices, with a focus on exam strategy. It's a chance to get direct feedback from expert tutors, learn from your peers, practice your process out loud, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Students consistently say group sessions are one of the most valuable parts of their prep, and those who attend regularly have a much higher level of mastery by test day.
After we review your application to check availability and make sure your needs are a good fit for our program, we'll reach out with next steps, including scheduling a free, no-pressure consultation.
The consultation is a conversation to get to know your situation, your timeline, your goals, and what's feeling most challenging about your upcoming prep. It's also a chance for you to ask any specific questions on top of everything you've already learned about our program.
Because we're limited in the number of students we can take on, it's important to us that the students we work with are genuinely excited about the way we approach MCAT prep. We're not here to pressure or convince anyone. We want to work with students who recognize that this is the right fit for them.
Absolutely. In fact, retakers are often our favorite type of student to work with. It can be extremely disappointing, sometimes heartbreaking, to work so hard toward a huge goal and fall short. To then pick yourself back up and keep persevering toward that dream shows a massive amount of character.
Many students come to us feeling defeated after working with the biggest companies in tutoring, only to find the MCAT suddenly makes so much more sense after just a couple sessions with our team. We use what information we have to understand what happened the first time, diagnose what needs to shift, and build a plan that targets those specific gaps.
Retakers tend to carry anxiety about what happened before, a worry that it might go the same way again. Retaking successfully starts with being open to the idea that this time can be different. That means letting go of the story that your past score defines you or that there's something wrong with how you learn or process information. Often the biggest obstacle to change isn't content or strategy, it's the way we see ourselves and our capability to learn and grow. This is something we put real attention toward helping students shift.
You're in the right place. Mindset coaching and test anxiety management are built into our program, not treated as an afterthought. We work on practical strategies for staying calm and focused under pressure, and our students consistently highlight this as one of the most impactful parts of working with us.
Every student is paired with a head tutor who brings years of experience and a second tutor who is a more recent test-taker. This gives you the best of both worlds: deep expertise and someone who understands exactly what you're going through right now. Both tutors stay in sync on your progress so nothing falls through the cracks.
All sessions are conducted online, which gives us the flexibility to work with students all over the world and makes it easy to fit sessions into your schedule. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a laptop or computer.
